Matthew Tyson’s Dart 10K Triumph: A Commitment to Charity and Community

At RPD, we believe in going the extra mile—not only in the work we do for our clients but also in how we support the causes that matter most. Recently, our Managing Director, Matthew Tyson, embodied this spirit of dedication by completing the Dart 10K, raising £3,500 for charity in the process.

The Dart 10K is no small feat. Known as the UK’s first marathon-distance open-water swim, it’s a challenging course that takes swimmers on a 10K journey along the River Dart from Totnes to the National Trust’s Greenway. It’s a test of endurance, mental strength, and resilience. And Matthew completed it in an impressive 2 hours and 38 minutes!

But this accomplishment extends beyond personal achievement. Matthew’s swim has raised vital funds for the RPD Foundation, which supports two incredibly important organisations: The Holistic Wellness Community, our charity of the year, and Level Water:

  • The Holistic Wellness Community provides free holistic therapies to individuals in Crawley, focusing on mental health and overall well-being. Their mission is to nurture emotional balance and offer crucial support to those in need.
  • Level Water offers one-on-one swimming lessons to children with disabilities, helping them build water skills, gain confidence, and foster independence. Their work is life-changing for both the children and their families.

Matthew’s efforts remind us of the power of dedication—whether in the boardroom, the community, or a challenging open-water swim. At RPD, we’ve always been passionate about giving back, especially to the third sector and the causes that align with our values. Matthew’s commitment reflects our wider mission to support transformative work in our communities.

We invite you to join us in celebrating Matthew’s incredible accomplishment and the charitable causes he supports. His swim might be over, but the impact of his efforts will be felt for years to come.
